3,4 & 5’s Preschool Half-Day Program
Harmony Preschool currently has one class of 14 students with two teachers operating Monday-Thursday, 9 AM-1 PM. We primarily follow the West Linn/Wilsonville School District schedule.
Program Details
Harmony Preschool uses an emergent curriculum that allows children’s interests to guide in-depth projects and learning experiences. This approach encourages collaboration as students work together through dialogue, comparison, negotiation, and mutual respect. Building a strong sense of community—both inside and outside the classroom—is a core value supported throughout the school year. Our low student-to-teacher ratio allows for meaningful individual attention, helping each child have a positive and enriching early childhood experience.
Harmony Preschool is focused on kindergarten readiness and follows the Oregon Early Learning and Kindergarten Guidelines to ensure every graduating student is well prepared for this next step.
Our classroom environment is Reggio Emilia–inspired, with a flexible, hands-on, and largely interest-based curriculum that supports curiosity, creativity, and exploration.
Students must be fully independent in the bathroom.
Students are asked to bring a cold lunch each day. A healthy snack is provided by Harmony Preschool.
Enrichment Activities
Included in tuition are a variety of enrichment classes and activities designed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning. Weekly offerings include yoga and mindfulness, music, Spanish, American Sign Language (ASL), gymnastics, and Kidokinetics. Monthly experiences include Cooking Club, librarian visits, community visitors (such as goats, firefighters, and Insectarium), and special art classes led by local artists.
Rebecca, a certified children's yoga teacher, leads engaging yoga and mindfulness lessons that incorporate students' interests into imaginative adventures. Beginner Spanish and ASL is woven into daily classroom activities and introduces children to colors, numbers, animals, and everyday vocabulary through songs, games, and play.
Music classes help students develop motor skills, coordination, and body awareness through movement and song. Children are introduced to rhythm, pitch, dynamics, beat-keeping with rhythm sticks, and other foundational musical concepts. Every other month, Tiny Talkers visits Harmony Preschool to provide an interactive and engaging ASL class.
Harmony Preschool partners with local artists to expose children to a variety of artistic mediums, including pottery, watercolor painting, and mixed-media art. Our monthly Cooking Club encourages budding chefs as students work together to prepare a delicious dinner, dessert, or snack to share with their families.
We are also excited to partner with local small businesses Jump Start Mobile Gymnastics and Kidokinetics to provide weekly physical education classes that build confidence, coordination, and healthy habits.
Throughout the year, Harmony Preschool introduces additional enrichment opportunities based on the interests and passions of our students, ensuring that every school year is unique, engaging, and full of discovery.
